I’d love to return to this newsletter with something meaningful to say but that’s just not what this is. Things, let’s talk about them.
Actual purchases:
TankAir Romeo Bodysuit: Need to run errands but want to look like a snack? This is it girlies. You will be seen.
Crown Affair brush, comb, and towel: I always prided myself on having good hair and then the pandemic happened and now there’s
brownstraw growing out of my head. I’m hoping buying a new hairbrush for the first time since 2016 will help. Other hair products I’ve purchases and liked: Kevin Murphy Cool.Angel, Davines Love conditioner, Kristin Ess Micellar shampoo, and Davines Volu shampoo.Sakura Pigma Micron Pen Set: the best thing about being a grown up— you can just buy pens. When I was a Hilltern I got to buy office supplies from the supply store with taxpayer money. I will spend the rest of my life chasing that high.
My couch is from Kaiyo, great place for used furniture.
Ceramidin moisturizer: I already have dry skin and Yankee winters do not help. Ceramidin + Hada Labo = skin that does not flake! Also if you’re in the city hit up Ebisu, it’s incredible.
Ferragamo loafers on eBay… i’m just like him fr
Everlane: I did fall victim to Everlane’s 25% flash sale. I’m a human beinggggg. I got black carpenter pant because I live in Brooklyn now, the turtleneck bodysuit because because I’m not peeing in a bar anytime soon, and two of the pima sleeveless tanks because they are the BEST work attire. Girlbosses love elevated leisurewear!
Remembered Uniqlo exits and I am better off for it.
AirQueen masks: I hate that Amazon is the best place to get surgical masks but you know one does what they must to survive a plague. Just 2022 things :)
On my wishlist:
homecoat from Offhours: Normalize living in robes because you’re afraid of the radiator. I’m saving the environment.
Museum memberships: How I’ve longed for the day it makes more sense to join the museum instead of buying tickets (and to get discounts on jewelry). The Met is obviously my first choice, Natural History a close second. I’d like to join both this year but what really intrigue me are the young patrons circles. The Met’s Apollo Circle (18-39) is $1200 yearly and AMNH Junior Circle is $750. I don’t think I can justify either before 25 but if my parents are reading this, do you even want me to get married?
Cranberry Veil from FACE Stockholm: real Bessetteheads know Carolyn wore this everyday (thank you Cat Marnell) along with Egyptian musk oil, which is sadly now impossible to find online. I purchased musk oil when I was in Jordan because Carolyn and I are both women of impeccable taste (hot girl from Greenwich told me to). I’m not not going home to find it. Also if anyone wants to recreate this Nobu moment me know.
Riley Reversible Color Block Duvet: listen, WASPs know how to sleep. Duvets, silk pillowcases, and so many blankies. It’s a wonderful lifestyle. If you’re not in your shoes, you’re in your sheets. You deserve a $724 sateen duvet set.
Sene Studio: Custom clothing for reasonable prices. I will probably get my next pair of black work pants here, and their straight jeans look promising as well.
Common Era pendant: If a woman in history was like smarter than everyone else and had sex and everyone accused her of being crazy and/or she was lobotomized… I want to dress like her.
Games: I feel like we’re going to be stuck inside for the rest of our lives and I don’t know how to cope with that so I keep looking at card games that attempt to know people… Let’s Get Closer, Where Should We Begin, We’re Not Really Strangers. I’m a white woman having an identity crisis really. Honorable mention to Piecework puzzles, which somehow all feel kind of horny.
Dior Nail Glow: Manicures for people who can’t be bothered. Hot girls order directly from the designer to get fancy packaging.
Brands I’m tracking: Because of Alice, Open Spaces, Vertigo Home, Dedcool, Richer Poorer, TiniLux, Sunday Citizen, Aurate, Neiwai, J. Hannah, St. Frank, Scully & Scully
hope everyone has a lovely 4 day week :)
